Program Description
The RIO Adult Day care is a social day program for older adults with social, physical and functional limitations. The program combines rehabilitative services with creative social, recreational, educational and social support services. It is designed to provide a warm and supportive environment for older adults who are experiencing a decrease in functioning due to stroke, arthritis, sensory loss or other physical impairments.

Eligibility is available to adults 60 years or older who are in need of maintaining or improving their independence in physical functioning, social, recreational, and/or communication skills.

  • Communication Skill Development
  • Socialization and Peer Support Group
  • Adult Education Classes
  • Individual/Group Counseling for Participants and Family Members
  • Information and Referral

    Admission Requirements

  • Adults 60 years or older
  • Participants should be independent or require minimum assistance with self care
  • Written medical authorization by an attending physician
  • Completion of the admission packet

    Program Location/Day/Hours

  • Located at our Orange facility
  • Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
  • The program is closed on major holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

    Rates/Funding

  • The program is funded in part through funds from the Federal Older Americans Act as allocated by the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
  • Participants are requested to make daily donation for program participation.
