RIO's Volunteer Program

Programs Special Event 

Program Volunteers

Purpose:

To provide additional ongoing assistance in the day programs.  Provides an opportunity to become more familiar with some of the disabilities of young children and adults.

Basic Qualifications:

Proof of a recent TB test, and good health and ability to perform the duties requested.

Complete a scheduled tour of the facility, an orientation to the policies of RIO and a Volunteer Service Application.

Have a willingness and interest in working in working with disabled persons.

Able to follow directions and work independently when appropriate.

Programs Needing Qualified Volunteers (see Program Descriptions)

Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS):  Brain injured adults, ages 18-59 offered at our Fullerton, Orange and San Clemente facilities.

Adult Day Care (ADC):  Disabled seniors, 60+ offered at our Orange facility.

Child Development Program (CDP): Developmentally delayed children, ages 1-3 offered at our Fullerton and Orange facilities.

Early Learning Center Preschool: Children, ages 2-6 offered at our Orange facility.

Independent Living Skills (ILS): Disabled adults & seniors learning or re-learning skills necessary to live independently offered at our Orange facility.

Transitional Adult Program (TAP): Developmentally disabled adults working to improve their quality of life offered at our Fullerton and Orange facilities.

Special Event Volunteers

Purpose:

To raise money to support the programs assisting children and adults with disabilities

Basic Qualifications:

Willing to give time to work and support RIO at fundraising events

Department:

Administration:  RIO's Annual Golf Tournament.  Some positions start now and have flexible hours.
