Adult Services - Independent Living Skills

ILS Services offers the following

Advocacy
Menu Planning
Mobility Training
Meal Preparation
Grocery Shopping
Individual Case Management
Money Management
Housekeeping/Laundry
Medication Management
Social/Communication Skills
Health/Medical Maintenance

ILS training occurs in the individual's home and community. One-to-one instruction with a team of professionals, assist the individual in accomplishing specific goals and objectives described in their Individual Program Plan.

Striving for independence in the community, not only involves living in the community, but becoming an active participant in daily living activities. This involves assisting individuals in pursuing skills in the area of vocation, education, volunteerism and social pursuits, as well as apartment living.

Structured recreation activities are offered on Saturdays to assist people in becoming familiar with activities in the community, as well as meeting new people.

Family Support groups are offered on a quarterly basis to assist families and significant others in adjusting to and maintaining the individual's independent lifestyle.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be 18 years or older
Must have the desire to receive independent living skills training
Must have sufficient income to sustain appropriate lifestyle in the community
Must be semi-independent in self care functions or have an identified attendant

Rates/Funding Information

Payment is based on an hourly rate and billed monthly
RIO Accepts private insurance, worker's compensation and private pay
RIO is vendored by the Regional Center of Orange County and the Department of Rehabilitation
